"Mirathon" is a 17th century farmhouse and is made up of four carefully restored individual gites, which can be taken separately (or as a whole), sleeping in total 23 people. It is within easy access of Bergerac, Bordeaux and the A62. [View map] Accommodation in each gite is: Aquitaine 7-8 people with one double room, one family room (a double and a single) and further a bedroom with three single beds; Dordogne 5-7 people with two double bedrooms, one single and a twin, Gascogne 4 people with a double bedroom and a bedroom leading off with bunk beds for children and Garonne 4 people with a double bedroom and a twin. All the properties have their own well equipped kitchen, living room, bathroom(s), bedrooms with good comfy beds and top quality bedding, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and a private patio or balcony. This ensures that if each gite is rented separately families can maintain total privacy. However, if the property is taken as a whole holidaymakers can be private or communal with group seating for 30 people. All the accommodation has been sympathetically restored from the old farm, tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard whilst retaining many of its original features like stone walls, shutters and exposed beams. Extra beds, cots and high chairs are also available. Often described as the French Tuscany, this tranquil area in the quiet Lot-et-Garonne countryside has something to offer visitors with all tastes. Mirathon is only 4kms from the fascinating bastide villages of Duras and Monsegur whilst being surrounded by activities suitable for all ages. You can easily fill your days exploring, sightseeing, wine tasting or merely relaxing in the extensive well stocked gardens or on the sunny terrace of the 11m x 5m Roman pool. The indoor playroom comes complete with table tennis. The well stocked flowery gardens are fabulous to wander in, and whilst each gite has its own barbecue there is a separate much bigger barbecue area in the garden. Our four gites sleep eight, six, four (two adults and two children as there are bunk beds) and four and extra beds can be provided as well as sofa beds. Altogether at Mirathon, we can provide 6 double bedrooms, 5 twin bedrooms, and 1 family bedroom. All bedrooms are spacious with excellent beds, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and are fully equipped with comfortable and modern bedding. Rental Notes: Rentals are from 4pm Saturday to 10 am Saturday. Late arrivals may make requests for extra shopping to be placed in the fridge. Clean linen is provided at the end of each week. Gourmet meals may be booked in advance. Pool towels available 7€ each per week.
