Mirathon is contained within one hectare of its own private grounds made up of lawns, lovingly tended and well-stocked flowerbeds. Fruit trees, displays of ornamental variegated bushes, big trees to provide shade, a fishpond, and outside covered playhouse and a huge grassed area for ball games, bike riding or the odd firework display. As soon as you get out of your car in the private car park in the shade of a huge weeping willow and enter the safety of the totally fenced in grounds you immediately start to relax. The only noise which can be heard is of cows chewing the cud and the birds singing. Around you are fields of sunflowers, grapes and prunes, with rivers, Chateaux and Bastide towns. This is a pocket of land with all the riches, beauty and diversity for which rural France is renowned. In the gardens there is a large covered communal barbecue with further lighting and seating – ideal for relaxing into long soporific evenings. A magnet for children and adults alike is the large swimming pool. Enclosed for safety there is plenty of space and sun loungers to enjoy a siesta, catch up on your favourite novel, enjoy lunch under the pergola, play games, picnic or merely wander around to admire the abundance of flowers. The pool is internally lit for evening swims. |
